Terry K. Maier is the President and Owner of Paradigm Labs, Inc. A native to Pennsylvania, Terry attended Penn State University as a general studies major. In the middle of his studies, Terry enlisted into the Air Force where he spent most of his time as an aircraft radio technician. Terry returned to his studies and enrolled at the College of Charleston in South Carolina and graduated with a degree in biology including a minor in chemistry. Upon graduating, Terry worked for Allied Chemical in California for 2 years before relocating back to Pennsylvania to work for Textile Chemical (now Brenntag North East) in Reading, PA. Terry was responsible for developing and implementing a $4.7 Million national accounts program in 3 years.
In 1991, Terry purchased the assets of a company that had been supplying chemicals to the textile market for 50 years to start Paradigm Labs Inc. in Allentown, Pennsylvania. After 1 year, Terry moved the company to Port Carbon to continue to grow the business for 3 years before purchasing our existing lot in Pine Grove, Pennsylvania in 1995. Surviving the economy, Paradigm Labs went through a 2nd building expansion to accommodate the increasing product line.
Over the years, Terry became actively involved in the community and state through organizations such as:
President of Chemical Club of Philadelphia (1993)
CEO, Manufacturers Association of North Eastern PA (2000-2005)
Board of Directors, Schuylkill County Country Club (2008-2013)
Terry started the company with intent to develop and manufacture a water-based product line to replace solvent-based technologies. Launching biodegradable detergents and water-based coatings and flame retardants to the textile industry was his primary focus which prompted a natural shift to expand into the dry cleaning and laundering industry.
Today, Terry is still very much involved in the daily operations of the company and has watched his company grow to now offer over 250 formulations, boast a technical support and sales office in North Carolina and an additional manufacturing facility in Louisiana.
Outside of work, Terry enjoys golfing, tending to his gardens, fine restaurants and travel.
