An intumescent fire and mold-resistant paint that can be used for structural fire protection or as a protective architectural finish paint. Available in white or black.
PREVENTS THERMAL TRANSFER
When heated, Pyromescent forms a thick char layer on whatever it’s protecting and it acts like insulation. This prevents the combustion of materials it’s protecting and also prevents the combustion of materials in an adjacent room!
Probable areas of use include finished basements, attics, wall cavities, building envelopes and walls.
Pyromescent protects most construction materials including treated and untreated lumber, OSB, particle board, masonry surfaces, concrete, brick, wallboard, composite construction materials and metals. Surfaces also include sheathing, trusses, framing, joists, plates, pillars, posts, beams and walls.
- Opaque white for covering or hiding stained surfaces;
- Breathable to prevent wet/dry rot conditions;
- Passes Class A fire protection standards;
- Prevents mold/algae/bacteria growth on the coating surface.
Consult SDS for details
Pyromescent is formulated as a ready- to-use coating and should not be diluted. It can be applied with a brush, roller or airless sprayer to obtain an even finish. Do not apply past the point of run- off. A cross-hatching technique is the best way to ensure sufficient wet/dry film thickness and complete coverage.
Up to 160 sq. ft. per gallon, based upon product warranty and/or building code requirements based upon standardized testing. Does not include loss from over-spray or over-use.
