DEFOAMER WTC-10 is most effective in aqueous systems. Depending on the application, concentrations of .015% to .50% may be needed to achieve a suitable defoaming action. In many cases, results can be obtained by using even lower dilutions. It has been determined that to defoam typical waste water with foam caused by nonionic and anionic surfactants that a rule of thumb is to use 1/5 the amount of defoamer to surfactant to prevent foam in waste water. For instance, if you identify that you have 100 ppm soaps for detergents, start with 20 ppm of Defoamer WTC-10.
For best results, DEFOAMER WTC-10 should be added at a point in the system prior to the foam formation. It should be thoroughly mixed to ensure the most economical performance. A good place to introduce WTC-10 is just ahead of the waste water discharge pump, this promotes dispersion of the product.
