PAPER: Defoamer NSP-3 should be added to the head box, the pulping tank or to some point prior to sheet formation. Add it to a location where there is a good deal of agitation to ensure that it is completely dispersed throughout the pulp suspension. Since each mill has different foaming problems, it is best to start with the amount of defoamer currently being used.
COATINGS & INK: add to the initial grind to prevent air entrapment. Adding additional product during letdown will help ensure a foam-free product. Usage recommendation: .5 – 1.5% depending on need.
TEXTILES: Defoamer NSP-3 is designed for use in both atmospheric and pressure equipment. It can be dispersed manually or with automated equipment. Usage varies depending on application. The starting point should be .25% OWF. Decrease or increase the amount as needed.
